Heater and Electrical System Compatibility

The SaunaLogic2 (SL2) control is engineered specifically for use with Finnleo Designer SL2 and Himalaya SL2 electric sauna heaters:

• Designer SL2 heaters — a wall-mounted heater line available in 4.5 kW, 6.0 kW, and 8.0 kW models, sized for saunas ranging from roughly 100 to 425 cubic feet, holding approximately 33–50 lbs of sauna rocks depending on model size
• Himalaya SL2 heaters — a floor-standing, Nordic-designed rock-tower heater available in 6.8 kW and 9.0 kW models, sized for saunas from roughly 175 up to 500 cubic feet, and holding approximately 210 lbs of Vulcanite rock for a softer, more even heat and steam

Because the SaunaLogic2 control is a low-voltage interface, it must be paired with a correctly sized contactor box that switches the heater's main electrical load. The contactor box is selected based on the heater's kW rating, voltage, and electrical phase:

• CB16 — single-phase (240V/1PH) contactor box, used with single-phase Designer SL2 and Himalaya SL2 heaters
• CB17-3 and CB18-3 — three-phase (208V/3PH) contactor boxes, required together for three-phase heater installations

Correct pairing of control, heater, and contactor box is essential for safe operation, accurate temperature regulation, and full functionality of the app-based controls. A dedicated 120-volt circuit is required to power the control and contactor box independent of the heater's main power circuit. Because sizing depends on your specific heater model, cubic footage, and available electrical service, we recommend confirming your exact heater model and amperage before ordering.
