Because the SL2-C control is a low-voltage interface, it must be paired with a correctly sized contactor box that switches the heater's main electrical load. The contactor box is selected based on the heater's kW rating, voltage, and electrical phase:

• CB17 — contactor box sized for single-heater Laava installations
• CB17-3 and CB18-3 — three-phase (208V/3PH) contactor boxes, required together for Magma installations, including dual-heater commercial configurations

Correct pairing of control, heater, and contactor box is essential for safe operation, accurate temperature regulation, and full functionality of the app-based controls. A dedicated 120-volt circuit is required to power the control and contactor box independent of the heater's main power circuit.
