The Harvia KIP W 6 kW Electric Sauna Heater, with its robust stainless steel or matte black exterior, offers an authentic Finnish sauna experience controlled through the external Harvia Xenio CX170 power unit (bundled in Tier 2 and Tier 3). The 6 kW KIP W is designed for standard residential 2–4 person sauna cabins from 170 to 300 cubic feet of interior volume, delivering efficient heating in either 240V 1-Phase or 208V 3-Phase service.

Why the 6 kW Size
The KIP W 6 kW is rated for sauna cabins between 170 and 300 cubic feet, best for standard residential 2–4 person sauna cabins. Calculate your cabin volume as interior length × width × height. If the cabin includes a glass door or window, add roughly 25% to the calculated cubic footage to compensate for radiant heat loss. For smaller cabins under 170 cu ft pick the KIP W 4.5 kW; for larger cabins up to 425 cu ft step up to the KIP W 8 kW.

Xenio CX170 + Fenix Upgrade, What's the Difference?
Tier 2 ("Heater + Control + Stones") bundles the Harvia Xenio CX170 power unit, Harvia's long-running, field-proven digital control platform for KIP heaters. The CX170 ships with WiFi built in and connects to the MyHarvia smartphone app for remote start and scheduling.
Tier 3 ("Heater + Control + Stones + Fenix Upgrade") adds the Harvia Fenix FX004XW Touchscreen Display, Harvia's next-generation control UI, on top of the CX170. The Fenix touchscreen is the platform Harvia is investing in going forward; pairing it with the CX170 today means you have a familiar, current-production power unit running the heater AND a modern, future-proof touchscreen interface in the sauna. When Harvia eventually completes the transition from Xenio to Fenix, you'll already be on the new platform.
Sauna Stones
Every KIP W "Heater + Control + Stones" package (Tier 2 and Tier 3) ships with one box of Harvia AC3000 standard sauna stones, olivine diabase, 5–10 cm size grade, 20 kg (44 lb) per box. AC3000 is the correct stone size for the KIP stone column. The smaller 5–10 cm size grade is preferred for the KIP's open-top stone bed because it packs more densely than the larger 10–15 cm AC3020 grade, giving you more thermal mass and more even löyly when water hits the stones.
Installation & Electrical Requirements
Every KIP W is wired through the external Xenio CX170 power unit (included in Tier 2 and Tier 3) to a dedicated circuit. The heater requires 240V 1-Phase OR 208V 3-Phase service depending on the variant you select. Pick the voltage that matches your panel. All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician per the included manual, local electrical code, and any applicable AHJ (authority having jurisdiction) inspection.
