Harvia Virta 8 kW Electric Sauna Heater
The Harvia Virta 8 kW Electric Sauna Heater (HL8U1) is the 8-kilowatt variant of Harvia's classic rectangular sauna heater, brushed stainless steel housing, vertical stone bed, top-loaded. Pairs with the external Xenio CX45 Xenio Smart Control power unit (bundled in Tier 2 and Tier 3) for digital scheduling, WiFi/MyHarvia control, and remote start. Designed for standard to large residential sauna cabins (3–5 person bench) from 177 to 431 cubic feet; available in 240V 1-Phase service.

Why the 8 kW Size
The Virta 8 kW is rated for sauna cabins between 280 and 460 cubic feet, best for standard to large residential sauna cabins (3–5 person bench). For smaller cabins step down to the Virta 6 kW; for larger cabins step up to the Virta 9 or 10.5 kW.
Xenio CX + Fenix Upgrade, What's the Difference?
Tier 2 ("Virta Heater + Control + Stones") bundles the Harvia Xenio CX Smart Control power unit (auto-matched to kW: CX30 for the 6 kW Virta, CX45 for the 8 / 9 / 10.5 kW Virta). The Xenio CX ships with WiFi built in and connects to the MyHarvia smartphone app for remote start and scheduling.
Tier 3 ("Virta Heater + Control + Stones + Fenix Upgrade") adds the Harvia Fenix FX004XW Touchscreen Display on top of the Xenio CX, Harvia's next-generation control UI, for the longest-runway platform investment as Harvia eventually transitions from the Xenio control panel to the Fenix touchscreen across the product line.
Sauna Stones
Every "Heater + Control + Stones" package (and the Fenix Upgrade tier) ships with the correct quantity of Harvia AC3020 sauna stones, olivine diabase, 10–15 cm size grade, 20 kg (44 lb) per box. The larger 10–15 cm grade is preferred for Virta because the heater's tall vertical stone bed packs more efficiently with bigger stones, and the larger thermal mass holds heat longer through repeated water throws. Stone quantity by kW: 3 boxes (6 / 8 / 9 kW), 4 boxes (10.5 kW).
Installation & Electrical Requirements
The Virta 8 kW requires a dedicated 240V 1-Phase circuit (33.3 Amps, 8 Gauge Copper) wired by a licensed electrician. Virta is UL Listed and must be installed per the included manual.

About the Harvia Virta Family
Harvia Virta is the company's classic rectangular electric sauna heater, brushed stainless steel housing, vertical stone bed across the front, top-loaded, designed to mount on either the floor or a heater-rated stand along the cabin wall. The Virta delivers Harvia's signature soft, even löyly across a wide range of cabin volumes from 200 cu ft up to roughly 650 cu ft on the 10.5 kW residential variant.
Every Virta requires an external Harvia Xenio Smart Control power unit (CX30 for 6 kW; CX45 for 8 / 9 / 10.5 kW), the controller ships separately and mounts outside the sauna cabin. The optional Fenix Upgrade swaps the Xenio's standard control panel for Harvia's next-generation FX004XW touchscreen.
