Description
The Harvia Virta Sauna Heater with Xenio Smart Control is Harvia's classic rectangular electric sauna heater, brushed stainless steel housing, vertical stone bed, top-loaded, paired with the external Harvia Xenio CX digital power unit for full WiFi/app control via the MyHarvia smartphone app. Available in 6 kW, 8 kW, 9 kW, or 10.5 kW at 240V 1-Phase (10.5 kW also offered in 208V 3-Phase for light-commercial installations). Optional Fenix touchscreen upgrade adds Harvia's next-generation control UI.
Pick the Right kW for Your Cabin
Each Virta size is rated for a specific sauna cabin interior volume. Calculate your cabin volume as interior length × width × height. If the cabin includes a glass door or window, add roughly 25% to the calculated volume to compensate for radiant heat loss.

Xenio CX + Fenix Upgrade, What's the Difference?
Tier 2 ("Virta Heater + Control + Stones") bundles the Harvia Xenio CX Smart Control power unit (auto-matched to kW: CX30 for the 6 kW Virta, CX45 for the 8 / 9 / 10.5 kW Virta). The Xenio CX ships with WiFi built in and connects to the MyHarvia smartphone app for remote start and scheduling.
Tier 3 ("Virta Heater + Control + Stones + Fenix Upgrade") adds the Harvia Fenix FX004XW Touchscreen Display on top of the Xenio CX, Harvia's next-generation control UI, for the longest-runway platform investment as Harvia eventually transitions from the Xenio control panel to the Fenix touchscreen across the product line.
Sauna Stones
Every "Heater + Control + Stones" package (and the Fenix Upgrade tier) ships with the correct quantity of Harvia AC3020 sauna stones, olivine diabase, 10–15 cm size grade, 20 kg (44 lb) per box. The larger 10–15 cm grade is preferred for Virta because the heater's tall vertical stone bed packs more efficiently with bigger stones, and the larger thermal mass holds heat longer through repeated water throws. Stone quantity by kW: 3 boxes (6 / 8 / 9 kW), 4 boxes (10.5 kW).
Installation & Electrical Requirements
Every Virta requires a dedicated 240V 1-Phase (or 208V 3-Phase on 10.5 kW light-commercial installs) circuit wired by a licensed electrician. Required amperage and wire gauge varies by kW, see the table above. Virta is UL Listed.

Harvia Virta is the company's classic rectangular electric sauna heater, brushed stainless steel housing, vertical stone bed across the front, top-loaded, designed to mount on either the floor or a heater-rated stand along the cabin wall. The Virta delivers Harvia's signature soft, even löyly across a wide range of cabin volumes from 200 cu ft up to roughly 650 cu ft on the 10.5 kW residential variant.
Every Virta requires an external Harvia Xenio Smart Control power unit (CX30 for 6 kW; CX45 for 8 / 9 / 10.5 kW), the controller ships separately and mounts outside the sauna cabin. The optional Fenix Upgrade swaps the Xenio's standard control panel for Harvia's next-generation FX004XW touchscreen.
